Vessel Overview ” AFTER MIDNIGHT ” is a custom motor yacht/fisherman constructed by Knight and Carver Yacht Center in National City, California in collabaration with Mikelson Yachts. During the sea trials she achieves 29 knots and cruised comfortably at 24 knots . Her owner enjoys cruising her at 1850 RPM giving 20 knots. She was constructed in 1994 with 1000hp MTUs and repowered with CAT 3412TAs delivering 2800 combined horsepower in 2000. She is documented at a length of 72 feet ,but due to her cockpit extension to accomodate a straight shaft drive design in leu of her original design . Her owner designed her for comfortable luxury fishing excursions up and down the West Coast . Mag Bay? , Cabo? , Sea Of Cortez ? San Juans ? , Costa Rica? – take her wherever you like as she will adapt to locations ventured . Dont let her size fool you – she is a serious threat to competing anglers , a great platform during tournaments and is a proven Tournament winner . “After Midnight ” is and has been professionally maintained and is one of the cleanest, best maintained vessels on the water . Guests enter main saloon through sliding doors from the boats lanai deck. They are greeted with a full-width leather lounge seating area, and a vibrant custom-designed etched and lighted art glass above the settee creates an Art Deco tone for the yacht. Galley appointments include a range, a double-wide Sub-Zero refrigerator, a combination convection/microwave oven, a trash compactor, Avonite countertops, exotic wood trim and designer wall coverings. Two large guest staterooms with en suite heads are abaft the crew stateroom, which also has an adjoining head. The full-width master stateroom offers a king-size berth, a large en suite head and cedar-lined walk-in hanging lockers. Practical Luxury Skippers will especially appreciate this incredible vessel . An extra-large tournament flybridge offers 360 degree visibility, fore and aft control stations, a wet bar, a barbecue and spacious seating for guests. The flybridge also sports a hardtop, and an optional full enclosure protects the controls. Sportfishing amenities are equally impressive. The 78s large aft fishing cockpit features an integral dual bait tank system and two built-in tackle centers. Just above and forward of the cockpit, a secondary observation/entertainment cockpit is provided on the lanai deck. This arrangement allows guests to stay close to the fishing action, if they don’t want to participate — yet, allows plenty of room in the cockpit for working large game fish. Above the hardtop, a sportfishing tower offers the ultimate in control and visibility. Second and third stations are located fore and aft on the flybridge, and the fourth control station is located on the lanai deck, a few steps from the cockpit. The 78 delivers a smooth, dry ride. It trims perfectly, offers exceptional stability, due to the design’s low center of gravity and Naiad stabilizers . |
